The Float E2-35 is BCA’s full-sized electronic airbag pack, built for a wide range of backcountry skiing and snowboarding objectives. It has plenty of space for a big day, with a waterproof coated nylon exterior that keeps your gear dry.
The Side Stash pocket gives you quick access to skins or a water bottle without taking the pack off in avalanche terrain. A dedicated rescue tools compartment, fleece-lined goggle pocket, interior accessory pockets, and a Back Stash zip keep everything organized. The 162 L airbag reduces your burial depth and protects your head and neck, and the Alpride E2 system works reliably in the cold.

BUYERS’ GUIDE
This is the pack for full days in the backcountry, when you need room for layers, food, water, and rescue gear. The “35” in the name is the volume without the E2 system. With the system installed, you have 31 L, which is about 10 L more than the E2-25. It weighs about 130 g more than the E2-25, so the extra space doesn’t cost you much.
The Side Stash pocket is the feature to think about. Keeping your pack on while you grab skins or a drink matters in avalanche terrain, because an airbag that’s off your back can’t help you. There’s no cylinder to refill, and BCA says the E2 system is TSA approved and classified as a capacitor under 10 Wh, so it isn’t subject to the dangerous goods rules for air travel. Carry their fact sheet when you fly.
The AA battery option gives you extra deployments, with lithium giving the most, and it keeps the system charged between trips. Always check the charge before you head out. Size by torso length, not height, and call us if you land in the 43 to 46 cm overlap between S/M and M/L.
