The Float E2-15 is BCA’s smallest and lowest-profile electronic airbag pack, built to carry the essentials and a little more. It’s a good match for lift-access freeriding, snowmobiling, and heli or cat skiing. The Side Stash pocket gives you quick access to skins or a water bottle without taking the pack off in avalanche terrain, and an internal sleeve holds your shovel and probe. The 162 L airbag reduces your burial depth and protects your head and neck, and the Alpride E2 supercapacitor system works reliably in the cold.

BUYERS’ GUIDE
The “15” in the name is the volume without the E2 system. With the system installed you have 11 L, so this is a pack for the essentials. Think shovel, probe, a layer, and a snack. If you want more room, the Float E2-25 has the same system with more space.
The Side Stash pocket is worth knowing about. It lets you grab skins or a drink without taking the pack off, and keeping it on is the safer habit. There’s no cylinder to refill, and BCA classifies the E2 as a capacitor under 10 Wh, so it isn’t subject to the dangerous goods rules for air travel. Carry their fact sheet when you fly. The two AA batteries are an easy add, with lithium giving you the most extra deployments, and they keep the system charged between trips. It’s a one-size pack with a wide torso range, so measure yourself and call us if you’re near either end.
