The Stash 30-UL balances volume, weight, and capability in one ultralight, durable pack. It has 30 L inside, multiple mounting points outside, and a roll-top closure that extends to 32 L when you need the room. Compression straps cinch it down tight for shorter days. BCA’s Side Stash pocket and two hip belt pockets let you reach essentials without taking the pack off, and a dedicated compartment keeps your shovel and probe easy to find. It earned a Freeskier Magazine Gear Lab award.

BUYERS’ GUIDE
This is the one to pick if you want an ultralight pack for most full touring days. The Side Stash pocket is the feature that matters most. You can grab skins or a water bottle without taking the pack off in avalanche terrain, and keeping it on is the safer habit.
The roll-top and compression straps let you size the pack to your load. If you regularly carry more for longer trips, the Stash 40-UL has the same design with 10 L more space.
Ultralight fabrics save weight, but keep sharp skis and axes from rubbing against the pack. It’s a one-size pack with a wide torso range, so measure yourself and call us if you’re near either end. Whatever you carry, put your beacon, probe, and shovel in it and practice with them.
