Some skins are built for one big objective, others are built to get abused lap after lap all season and keep working, and the Ascension Skins are firmly the latter. This durable nylon plush construction is Black Diamond's toughest skin option, built for one-lap dawn patrols and 10,000-foot days without the glide efficiency of a mohair blend getting in the way of straight-up durability.
Gold Label glue sticks reliably when you need it and rips clean when it's time to transition, and the pre-cut bikini-style tail and reinforced tip loop mean less fuss at setup. If you're hard on gear or logging serious mileage every season, this is the skin built to take it.

BUYERS' GUIDE
If you're comparing this against our Glidelite Tour (mohair/nylon blend) or Glidelite Pure (100% mohair), think of it as the durability end of the spectrum. Pure nylon grips harder and lasts longer under heavy, repeated use, exactly what you want for daily laps, guiding, or ski patrol duty, but it's noticeably heavier and slower on the glide than a mohair blend.
If your season is built around casual weekend tours and long approaches where glide efficiency saves real energy, the Glidelite Tour blend will serve you better. If you're doing short, steep laps day after day and care more about bombproof grip than shaving grams, this is the one.
Same sizing rule as our other fixed-length skins: match the size to your actual ski length, not your height, and remember you can always trim width and length down but can't add material back.
Like any skin, the tip and tail hardware are wear points, so keep our Ski Skin Tail Kit and Tip Loop Kit in mind down the road if either one goes.
