BUYERS’ GUIDE
The big difference from a standard skin is the fit. Because the Tödi is cut to your skis, you’ll need to tell us your ski make, model, and length when you order, and it won’t fit different skis later. That’s worth it if you want a clean edge-to-edge fit with no trimming. The blend is a good all-rounder. Mohair glides well and the polyamide adds durability, so it holds up to a full season of use. A few tips from Colltex are worth passing on. Wax the skins in the direction of the pile before each trip, since it improves glide and helps stop snow building up when temperatures change. In the cold, warm the skins under your jacket and press them firmly onto a clean, dry ski base. Always use the cover nets to protect the hotmelt coating from drying out. If the adhesive ever fails in the field, Colltex makes Quicktex pads for emergency re-coating, which are small and light enough to throw in your pack. Ask us about them.
