The Alpride E2 system is a genuine shift from older cartridge-based airbags, and having worked with these systems ourselves, a few things are worth knowing before you buy. No cartridges means no hunting for a refill station before a trip and no worrying about airline restrictions on compressed gas cartridges when you travel to ski, the supercapacitor charges from a standard outlet and holds its charge well between uses, but you do want to check the charge level before every trip out, not just at the start of the season. The leg safety strap is a feature some skiers skip using because it's an extra step to clip in, don't skip it, it's specifically there to keep the pack on your body during a slide, which matters because an airbag that gets ripped off does you no good. On sizing: this is a Short-fit back length (44-54 cm) with a body height range of 158-195 cm, so it's built to fit most adult skiers, but if you're on the tall end of that range or have a long torso, measure your back length against the spec before ordering rather than going by height alone.
