BUYERS' GUIDE
If you're deciding between this and our Freescape Tour 38 SL, it comes down to your back length, not your height. This one's built for a 44-54 cm back length and generally fits folks in the 170-195 cm range, while the SL runs shorter and is shaped for a woman's anatomy. Grab a tape measure and check your actual back length before you decide, it's the number that determines whether this pack rides well on you, not how tall you are.
Keep in mind this is a touring pack through and through, rated 5/5 for ski touring and splitboarding but just 1/5 for resort freeride, so if you're mostly doing lift-served laps with the odd tour day, you'd probably be happier in one of our freeride-specific packs instead. One feature you'll actually notice in the field: the rear U-shaped zipper lets you get into your main compartment without unclipping your skis or board first, which is a small thing until you're standing around in the cold trying to grab another layer.
