Not every day calls for a big pack, and the Haldigrat 22 E2 is sized right for day tours and claiming fresh tracks without the extra bulk. It runs the same Alpride E2 electronic airbag system as its bigger sibling, lightweight, airplane-safe, and built to deploy quickly and at high pressure even in freezing conditions, powered by supercapacitor technology for multiple deployments per charge.
The snug, close fit keeps the pack secure without restricting movement, and the same back-panel opening that's a Mammut signature on their electronic airbags gets you into your gear fast, whether you're in-bounds or well beyond the ropes.

BUYERS' GUIDE
Think of this as the day-tour version of our Haldigrat 30, same airbag system and back-panel access, but sized down and one-size-only rather than the two back lengths on the 30. That means it's a great pick if you're mostly doing shorter tours or hut-to-car days and don't want to carry a bigger pack than you need, but if you're between the S/M and M/L range on the 30 and prefer a specific back-length fit, that's not an option here.
Weight is worth noting too: the spec sheet lists both backpack-only weight (1,230g) and the total weight with the airbag system installed (2,370g), so factor in the full number when you're comparing it against other packs, not just the lighter figure.
Same rule as any Alpride E2 pack applies here, check your charge level before you head out, and don't skip clipping in any safety straps the pack comes with.
